Just stop for all switches even if you think the points look good and DO NOT run over their new flags. Remember, if you get cited with a critical incident, the carrier will give you an alcohol and drug test, send you home for the day and your manager will have to be contacted to mark you back up.
Electronic Devices and Inward Facing Cameras
The carrier is STILL very hard on electronic devices. You are not allowed to have any type of blue tooth, headset, or ear-buds for an electronic device on your person while you are in covered service... (safety sensitive operations). You will get disciplined. (the beatings will continue until morale improves) Be sure any and all electronics are stowed in your grip. Additionally, if you have a home computer, always be sure that you logoff before going to work... If you leave it logged on, and it pings while you are on duty, you will be subjected to some type of discipline. (one or more of our members are currently facing discipline for this 2.21 rules violation today).
1.As cautionary reminder, in the Carrier’s view and interpretation, Smart Watches (or equivalent products that can connect to Wi-Fi, phone, etc.) are considered electronic devices under GCOR Rule 2.21 and subject to the same prohibitions as are laptops, cell phones or other mini-computers that might also have a time piece function. Please advise your peers to turn off and stow any such devices just as they would their cell phone. In the interest of erring on the side of caution, I would suggest that FitBits and other such devices, as there are multiple models with differing capabilities, be similarly powered down and stowed.
2.On a far more ominous note, we just received word that MOP’s on various Service Units have all been equipped with the ability to download Inward Facing Camera video with their laptops on the scene, just as they are capable of doing with event recorder downloads. The information given did not specify any particular triggers or circumstances that might prompt such CIC download or a minimum standard for same. Obviously, UPRR’s previous policy providing for only a select few in Omaha to possess that capability is a thing of the past. Forewarn everyone you work with as I can only assume that MOP’s in other SU’s across our business either have the same capability now or soon will.

Please see attached documents regarding Federal Rest Claims and Lodging Claims. Due to summer vacation time, the hotels will eventually be booked up. Some of you will be waiting longer than 30 minutes for a room. Remember you will need to tie up and then adjust your rest after you receive a room. Use the attached Lodging Claim as a sample in order to make yours. You should make your decision as to how handle your particular situation if you are on overtime, etc. Also, attached is a sample claim for Federal Rest.
I know there are more members going into federal rest and I do not receive any info on it. This case will go to a Law Board and our position is very strong. If you go into federal rest, you need to file a claim and follow up by sending me the rejection on your recap and a copy of your time slip. If you don't complete the process, I can't complete it for you.

A heat ticket can be entered to timekeeping by going to the second page ("My UP") of the employee website and just under Bookmarks, click on "Crew", go down to "TK Service Center" to generate ticket for a claim complaint or pay issue. By entering Don's user ID, he will receive a copy of your ticket.
You can also enter Don's user ID under your personal info in CMTS to allow him Local Chairman access.
Also, use Don's office line 951-275-9999 to fax items to him.
